Heisman - Week 6

1) Chase Daniel (previously #1) – QB Missouri (Season: 1,664 YDS, 15 TD, 1 INT, 74 rush yds)

252 yds and 3 TD against Nebraska. Daniel might be fat, short and have a terrible beard, but he’s the top Heisman candidate at this point of the season. He’s completing 75.8% of his passes, which is absurd. Next: vs. Oklahoma St.

2) Sam Bradford (2) – QB Oklahoma (Season: 1,665 YDS, 18 TD, 3 INT, 1 rush TD)

372 yds and 2 TD against Baylor. To steal a line from Tom, if this guy can be a Division 1 quarterback, who can’t? Bradford continues to put up monster numbers for the #1 team in the country. Huge test against Texas this week.

3) Graham Harrell (4) – QB Texas Tech (Season: 2,027 yds, 18 TD, 3 INT, 2 rush TD)

454 yds, 6 TD, 1 rush at Kansas St. Crazy numbers thus far. Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach was almost Illinois’ next coach instead of Ron Zook, which leads to the obvious question: Why is “Zook” not recognized as a word in Microsoft Word? (neither is “Zooked” or “Zook’d” for that matter) Also, would you as an Illini fan rather see Harrell flinging the ball 50 times a game or the offense Illinois has now with Juice Williams?

4) Colt McCoy (5) – QB Texas (Season: 1,279 yds, 16 TD, 3 INT, 317 rush yds, 4 rush TD)

261 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT and 39 rush yds at Colorado. The closet Illini fan has an opportunity catapult himself up this list with a good performance against rival Oklahoma.

5) Javon Ringer (3) – RB Michigan St (Season: 988 yds, 12 TD, 60 rec yds)
91 yds against Iowa. Not a great outing, and I expect Ringer’s number of carries to decrease as time goes on. It will be tough for him to take the Heisman unless he starts breaking Big 10 records.

Honorable Mention:

Mark Sanchez (HM) – QB USC (Season: 1,069 YDS, 13 TD, 3 INT)

332 yds and 3 TD against ranked Oregon. Probably the best game of the year for Sanchez, who definitely needs to win out to have a chance at the Heisman.
Next: vs. Arizona St.

Michael Crabtree (HM) – WR Texas Tech (Season 38 receptions, 564 yds, 8 TD)
Probably the best receiver in the country, Crabtree is also a product of the pass-happy offense at Texas Tech.
Next: vs. Nebraska

Tim Tebow (HM) – QB Florida (Season: 1,025 yds, 8 TD, 157 rush yds, 2 TD)217 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 32 rush yds against Arkansas. The immortal Tebow from last year is gone, but Florida is a better team this year.
Next: vs. LSU

Jeremy Maclin (HM) – WR Missouri (Season: 31 receptions, 480 yds, 5 rec TD, 1 rush TD, 1 return TD)

5 catches for 89 yards and a TD against Nebraska. Again, could you imagine a top 3 receiving corps of Benn, Crabtree and Maclin?
Next: vs. Oklahoma St.

Max Hall (HM) – QB BYU (Season: 1,587, 17 TD, 4 INT, 1 rush TD)

303 yds and 2 TD against Utah St. Throwing 2 INT against Utah St. isn’t going to get it done.

People Who Shouldn't Be Allowed to Vote

Men who date women two years or more younger than them - If you have alienated all women your age and can no longer find a woman who finds you datable your ostracism from society should be complete. There is a notable exception to this rule; if you are Justin Timberlake or George Clooney and have successfully banged every hot chick your age.

Women who date men two years or more older than them - If I here one more girl tell me that older guys are more "mature" I may just punch them in the face. Of course by more mature these guys take them out to extravagant dinners, buy them gifts, and go down on them for hours in the hope that the girl doesn't notice why every woman his age said no thank you.

People who have their significant other in their Facebook profile picture - Unless your significant other is your wife or fiance there is no good excuse for devoting half of your profile picture to someone else. Why don't you list your significant others hobbies and likes in your profile as well?

The State of Indiana - When your best cities are Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, Bloomington, and Gary you have bigger issues to worry about than voting.
