That's Politics Bitch

- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner admitted this week that out monetary policy was "too loose too long." This is news because Geithner, a former Fed Bank vice chairman, is conceding that the Fed was partly responsible for our current economic problems. Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke have both denied any responsibility up to this point and will continue to deny to their graves. My guy, Ron Paul, was one of the first to point our loose monetary policy but was flatly ignored because he made too much sense.

- As one of probably 3 people in the world who listens to Rush Limbaugh and watches Real Time with Bill Maher it allows me the ability to paint a picture, albeit broad picture of each political side.

First the GOP:
- Global warming is a hoax and it was started by hippies to punish greedy corporations.
- The term "mainstream media" is code for don't trust anything other than Fox News.
- If given the chance Obama will give African-Americans reparations.
- Obama wants to takeaway assault rifles so it's easier for his socialist storm troopers to take over dissenters.

Now the Dems:
- Believing in God is for morons.
- Marriage is for morons and if you get married its ok to cheat on your wife.
- Pouring water on terrorist's faces is a way worse message to send the world than 2 million abortions.
- Corporations should act like human beings.

- Just a quick note on Notre Dame and Obama; Notre Dame should have waited two years. By that time the fervor over Obama taking office and turning over abortion laws will have died down.

"Pouring water on people's faces" is a little over the top. It is torture flat out and there is no denying that. Also, those 2 shows are very extreme and certainly don't represent each party as a whole, especially when Maher is not even a member of the Democratic Party and is a libertarian. Still, probably one of your fairest posts on politics.

If waterboarding was torture than Jack Bauer would have used it.

Until Jack gives his stamp of approval I won't be listing waterboarding along with other torture methods like whipping, cutting off fingers, and ripping out finger nails.

how proud is mr fitz to have his alma mater host president obama as their graduation speaker this year??? seriously what is notre dame up to these days, they are no longer the glory school they used to be. they have become an espn side show for sports and now they are trying to be an academic side show with their graduation speaker selection. probably 85% of those students will be conservative 5 years from now..... i used to be diehard notre dame, even after coming to u of i but year after year all they have done is disappoint me. notre dame get some classy people back in that adminstration and find a football coach that isnt as shady as charlie fat ass weis. let him go back to the NFL. (end rant) my apologies.

and tom all you did was talk about the parties extreme sides in this post, i'm glad you talked about both of them but can we get some sort of conclusion out of it. or should we all just jump on the ron paul bandwagon and call it a day?

Greg - great comments.

Also, I think if as long as the US is torturing people and using the death penalty that it's time to put this on a game show.

Can you say "The Running Man: Reality Show"?

I'd buy that for a dollar.
(if anyone knows what movie that's from I'll be impressed)

M -

After my trip to Arizona where we were denied the pleasure of renting this movie, I decided to get it from Netflix, and then watched it like 4 times... ROBOCOP!

Best quote from that movie comes from Red Foreman at a different part of the movie though... with a gun to the man's head "BITCHES LEAVE!"

Scottimus - The best part about Robocop, it got good reviews. Maybe some 30 years or older can help me out but was Robocop supposed to be satirical?
